In the Spotlight: Weysa Dya "The dream" (CyberJamz Records CD Promo)

** Exclusive Preview ** We are proud to present you this exclusive likely not to be released before February 2010. The original version by Tim McAllister features sultry vocals by Weysa Dya alongside infectious chords over a deeply stormin' groove, with the 'Dance Mix' being a mesmeric alteration of the original that turns the heat up. Mark Di Meo and Tony Loreto team up for a wonderfully instrumentated, laidback yet contaminous set of remixes that includes vocal, stripped down vocal and instrumental versions. Next, Mark Di Meo and Soul Oasis join forces for an uplifting Latin flavored dub rework. Finally we have Vick Lavender's summery 'Sophisticado Mix', a funk oozing, percussion enriched interpretation with a jazzy touch that is spreading a laidback feeling.

Last week we gave you an exclusive preview of beloved spoken word artist Weysa Dya's upcoming 2010 release "The dream", this week we have more exclusives from her in form of unreleased mixes of her previous releases. "Connected minds" comes in a thumpin' soul-tech rework by Mr. Mama, a deep melodic remix by Mark Di Meo and the fierce underground-ish 'SS Family Old Skool Mix'. "Subliminal" is given a laidback, funk oozing feel by the Groove Victim on his summery remixes, while Rob 'Solid Noize' Temple reconstructs his previously released 'Caribbean Mix' into an uplifting dance floor thumper. Lastly label honcho Sammy Rock under his Soul Oasis moniker takes on "Deep house meditation", serving a deep mesmerizing version that uses phat synths and a fierce percussive groove to create a hands in the air feel.

Weysa Dya - Subliminal [Cyberjamz]

Weysa Dya returns to Cyberjamz with “Subliminal” which features her spoken/rapped vocal. There are three excellent mixes which I’m struggling to describe right now from Solid Noize, Ronnie Ron and my personal pick from Ribheirinho & Blackwax which absolutely nails it! It’s almost a deep riposte to Q-Tip’s “Breathe and Stop” but it’s so much more and it annoys the hell out of me that I can’t find the right words.

Subliminal’ (Weysa Dya)-Cyberjamz Records.

A new release, TBA, is going to continue the Cyberjamz Records jam slammin’ catalogue. Weysa Dya’s ‘Subliminal’ is catchy and addicting as the title is. The ‘(Ribeirinho and Blackwax Mix)’ is one afro electro stomper with a hypnotizing bassline and these bell like keys sprinkled in just the right spot. You can’t help but move your body to the beat after the first 8 bars maybe 4. The ‘(Solid Noize Caribbean Mix)’ makes sure you don’t stop till you get enough. This mix takes you to that fun place where the palm trees bend to shade you and the pina coladas are served to cool you. Love the flow of this track especially the fast rappin' Weysa Dya. There is superb, tropical, musical energy in this one. ‘(Ronnie Ron Cyber Dub)’ takes me to the 90’s house grooves where each record could do no wrong on the dancefloor with that 09 flip twist (90’s 09’s flip). Ok back to this mix, this mix makes want to see all my friends at once so O can go bang a real dance floor mover. This is one great musical project to look for.

Jay Brown, a.k.a. The Groove Victim is back with another Cyberjamz Records release, “The Nothing EP”.
Coming off the success of The Foul Tracks EP, Groove steps away from the classic “Jersey Sound” and gives us a Peak Time stomper called “The Nothing”.

“Calm before the Storm” is the introduction with its airy, somber, and dark mood, which later progresses into a more aggressive feel as Groove’s syncopated beats influence one’s stress levels to increase in intensity.

“The Havoc Mix” feeds off the prior track but brings out the raw aggressive side of Groove’s production style. With its spaced out chords, hard-edged beats, and a wicked synth solo capitalizing on an already aggressive tone, this track is persistent in its overall goal of lifting the spirits and tension of dancers on the dance floor.

The “Nothing but Beats” mix is the Bonus Beat track of the EP and can work wonders as an extended mix to enhance “The Havoc Mix”, or an underlying beat with other House Tracks. DJs are gonna love these beats!!!!!!!

Exclusive Preview: The Groove Victim "The nothing" (Cyberjamz)

Jay Brown under his Groove Victim disguise presents the gorgeous "The nothing", an instrumental production built around a deep relentless yet smooth percussion enriched groove that is topped with lush atmospheric synth melodies and beautiful jazzy keys in the 'Calm Before The Storm' version, while the edgy 'The Havok Mix' is a much more aggressive and features freaky electronic synth waves. Also included is the 'Nothing But Beats' DJ tool, a beats version of 'The Havok Mix'.

I feel and hear that 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' sync madness when I hear the sync talking in this mix. Great stuff in this little musical package of 'The Nothing'. Jay Brown delivers more deep dopeness of the very calibre. “Calm Before The Storm” is a laid back affair with mellow keys and soothing strings that just wash over you; the music has a wonderful calming effect while the rhythms gently prod your feet into action. “Nothing But Beats” is just that and offers up several opportunities for those who’re prepared to be creative in their sets. “The Havoc Mix” offers a more penetrating alternative with more urgency in the beats and a striking combination of synths.

Groove Victim AKA Jay Brown brings a taste of energetic deep house music in this 3 track E.P Calm before the storm has a light percussive feel and builds nicely through out. High strings and a sweet piano lead in to a smooth break down before this version builds once again. Nothing but beats does what it says on the tin only with more punch to the kick and some serious swinging hats.The havock mix blends the best elements of the 1st two versions and adds some great synths into the equation.
